Road access point: Karangarua
Foot access: Foot access via Cassel Flat and walk over high level marked route (summer only)

Notes

Tahr present mainly on the true left, in the higher, bluff country up to the headwaters. Chamois mainly downstream of hut. Popular due to air access and animal numbers will vary depending on hunting pressure.
