Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to explore Milford Sound/Piopiotahi while helping with a range of work along the Milford Road and around the sound to maintain local walks and historical sites.

Tasks will include painting, clearing vegetation, small building repairs and historical maintenance.

What to expect

Fitness/skill level

Low level of fitness. This trip is suitable for people who are less active but can still walk for 1–2 hours without a pack.

Accommodation

DOC staff quarters at Knobs Flat (on the Milford Road) and Milford Sound. Both houses have bunkbeds, a kitchen, a fire and a hot shower available as well as great views.

Pickup/drop-off location and times

Meet at the DOC workshop, 19 Caswell Road, Te Anau at 9.00 am on Monday 13 January. Volunteers will be returned to the same location at 4.00 pm on Friday 17 January.

Contribution towards food and transport

$100 per person.
